Who we are

Camarasaurio is an independent project operated from the UK. Contact: privacy@camarasaurio.uk.

The two modes

• 🔒 Private: your audio is processed entirely in your browser (WebGPU/WASM). It never leaves your device. No upload occurs.
• ⚡ Turbo (optional, clearly labeled): your audio file is sent over the internet to our community RTX server for faster processing. It is processed from a temporary file, which is deleted immediately when the job finishes or fails.

What we NEVER store

• Audio or video content, transcripts or transcript fragments
• Original filenames or local paths
• Your IP address in our product database
• Raw User-Agent strings
• Vocabulary or words you entered
• A persistent visitor identifier (there is none by default)

What we DO store (and why)

• Technical job metrics (Turbo only): a random job id, timestamp, job duration/size/type, language, queue/inference/total milliseconds, realtime factor, segment count, and success/error code. Purpose: measure performance and reliability. Identifiable data: none. Kept 30 days; afterwards only daily aggregate statistics remain.
• General traffic analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics (privacy-first, cookie-less) gives us aggregate visit/pageview counts. No cookies are used.

Processors

• Cloudflare: static hosting, Workers, D1 database, Turnstile (bot check), Email Routing. Cloudflare may process technical connection data as part of delivering the service; Cloudflare offers a Data Processing Addendum.
• Ko-fi (optional): if you choose to support us via the external Ko-fi button, your interaction with Ko-fi is governed by Ko-fi's own terms. We send Ko-fi nothing: no job id, no transcript, no identifiers.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR / GDPR you can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability of your personal data. Since we deliberately avoid collecting identifiable data, most requests will concern the technical job metrics described above. Email us at privacy@camarasaurio.uk; we'll answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the ICO.

Security

TLS everywhere, authentication at the GPU origin, bot protection (Turnstile), rate limiting, minimal logging, immediate deletion of temporary audio files, and a strict data-minimisation design.

Changes

We'll update this page when anything changes. If we ever introduce optional persistent telemetry, it will be opt-in with a visible way to withdraw.
